In an effort to keep up on all the latest rants and raves by Google AdSense, I often search for the current news stories. Well, today, I discovered something quite interesting. It was basically a blog, but with many valid points written by Troy Janisch. It is titled “Better than Google AdSense? Facebook ‘SocialSense’”. In this blog, the writer outlines the fact that the Google AdSense program is “nearing retirement”. He then continues to expound on the fact that Facebook could, in fact, top out the program and provide a fresh, new “face” to revenue sharing for website owners.

By simply using the expansive profile capabilities, website owners may use the profile infrastructure to target advertisements based on location, keyword, age, connection, relationship status, education level and interests, gender, businesses, languages, and more. Once reading this blog, I have to wonder why none of the rest of us has focused on the pure power offered by social networking websites like Facebook. Perhaps it is true that ‘SocialSense’ could be the key to a more structural, successful revenue sharing program for all website owners out there. What do you think? If ‘SocialSense’ was on the market today, would you opt for it? I know I would! Please feel free to leave your comments below. Excellent article. I’m just getting into this and I’m glad to have a head’s up about potential pitfalls. Thanks!

  2. Interesting. I mean if they can offer the same price per click with better targeted ads then there is no reason not to make the switch to SocialSense.
