Good news for Google AdSense users: Google has announced via their AdSense blog that they are currently testing an expanded version of category blocking, known as general category blocking.
Google explained further by indicating that general category blocking allows users to block even more categories of ads from appearing on their site. As of now, Google is testing 170 more specific categories with topics ranging from finance to automotive. This new feature gives publishers the freedom to block up to 50 ad categories from the 170 offered.
Google will provide publishers with the percentage of total revenue, and total impressions that fall under each category so they understand the potential changes to earnings.
