Google AdSense Recently Interpreted as Malware

I discovered in recent news that Google AdSense advertisements were recently interpreted as Malware by a security application named “Kaspersky”. This all started with a user that had installed and implemented the use of the security program. The individual attempted to access an internet page but was unable to do so because of the fact that the program viewed the rotating advertisements on the page as a type of malicious code that could pose a significant threat to the user’s computer. As a matter of fact, the Google AdSense section was literally interpreted as a Trojan. It seems Google has finally mastered the art of going “viral”!

When Google is involved, everything gets really blown out of proportion. This is just natural, I suppose, because it is a multi-billion dollar company that seems to rule all aspects of the internet. Well, you can imagine the surprise of the company when it discovered that the security application it created for internet users was blocking Google! Immediately a statement was released by the company. It stated as quoted: “Kaspersky Lab would like to apologize for any inconvenience this problem may have caused users. The company is continually improving its procedures for testing products and releasing updates to prevent such errors from occurring in future.”

It appears that the company has identified what happened to cause its security program to identify Google AdSense as malicious. According to them, a signature which was incorrect to start with was added to the main database that the company has. Somehow or another, the legitimate code that is utilized on the AdSense advertisements were blocked. You have to wonder how this affected the incomes of those that are part of the AdSense program. How many other security applications could be blocking Google? We’ll just have to wait and see. Please feel free to leave your comments below.

Yes it does make me wonder just how much income I lost with my Google Adsense due to the malfunction/programming of that security software.
I have Norton 360 which has been very useful in keeping everything safe I also use loan defend as another form of keeping my information contained from threats. Course it is new and I am not exactly sure how it works but once I find out that something has gotten thru or I start receiving information I have not asked for personally I delete the program that is not doing its job.
I am not real happy with the Semantics company as their contact information makes it really hard to actually talk to a person over the phone (which you are billed for almost as much as Microsoft when you have to talk to a person!)
Once I totally got the Norton configured and installed correctly it has saved my computer many times over.
You have to know how to configure it so that it catches each & every worm, trojan etc. it is very time consuming and frustrating to learn but once it is complete you can update it as often as you want (even though it will automatically update itself.)
Thank You for your helpful insights and tips.

I went without a virus scanner for years as I didn't like to give away extra resources, and also I tend to format and reinstall my OS every few months. For the last few months however I've had one, used to use AVG for a while but moved to Avast and I'm pretty happy with it. It's good if you've got other people on your computer, or just to ease your mind a little if you think a file you wanted to download might be a bit suspicious. These days computer have plenty of extra umph to handle a virus scanner without impacting on the overall performance significantly. That is, so long as you don't use something like Norton.
