How To Take Command Of Your Google Adsense Program

Google’s AdSense is one of the most preferred revenue-generating programs on the Internet. If you have a blog or content-rich Web site, you’re likely acquainted with Google AdSense. You may already understand how to use this program… but do you know how to become proficient with it?

Google allows you to take command of AdSense in three different ways. AdSense for search empowers your site to produce ads when traffic queries content on your pages. These ads, sponsored links, will be shown along with your site’s search results. AdSense for mobile distributes ads within the rich content on your mobile phone pages.

The most preferred form of AdSense is the version that’s made expressly for Web-based content. This program examines the content on your site and conforms the words to corresponding ads in the form of text or pictures (whatever you decide). Google has another form of advertising for the AdSense program — streaming video. You can choose this approach as well when you choose to take advantage of AdSense.

When you sign up for AdSense, you collect revenue based upon the number of clicks or page impressions each ad receives. This indicates traffic actually needs to click on the ad link for you to earn. You will be compensated for each one thousand impressions Google registers. This may sound like a modest sum, but there are techniques to get more out of AdSense by optimizing your ads and focusing on content.

• Ad Deployment

Place AdSense advertisements adjacent to the site’s existing navigational links. The eye is generally drawn to this region of your pages, so it’s more conceivable the ads will be noticed with this placement. Google recommends placing ads along the right-hand side of the page for optimal efficiency. Your AdSense ads should only be present on pages where rich content exists, or else you aren’t doing yourself any benefit. You want the ads to compliment your site’s content, which would be impossible if there is no content on the page.

• Ad Manifestation

Google statistics demonstrate that the most successful ads are sized at 336 x 280. Wider formats are more attractive, as these take up fewer lines on the site. For content pages, Google recommends vertical banners. It’s also a good concept to use the AdSense tools to choose a color scheme which resembles your site’s existing look. This helps ads to integrate in with your pages. Don’t line your ads up with the images on your site, as though one has something to do with the other. Google does not accept this arrangement.

• AdSense Caption

AdSense ads must be classified as either “advertisements” or “sponsored links.” Google won’t have it any other way.

• AdSense Code

No matter how enticing it may be, don’t tweak any of the AdSense codes you’re given by Google.

• Additional Ads

AdSense allows you to position up to three ads on a single page. You can also run programs comparable to AdSense on the same page as Google’s program; this is not opposing the rules.

• Ad Links

When traffic clicks on your AdSense ads, the link should open up in the same page. AdSense ads should positively never open up in a new window, so don’t change the code to direct them otherwise.

• AdSense Account

A single AdSense account can overlay as many Web sites as you own. You don’t need a new account for a new site.

• Content Matching

The ads displayed through Google should always correspond to the content of your site. If you detect that this doesn’t seem to be the case, check over your pages. AdSense inspects not just the content but the URL, the page title and your META tags when choosing ads for your site. Make sure everything presents the keywords you want to highlight.

At all costs, you must evade click fraud. It may appear to be easy. It may seem faultless. It may seem to be an effortless way to earn more money, but click fraud is illegal. It is also basis enough to get you banned from ever using Google AdSense, so just don’t do it. Make certain you aren’t clicking on your own ads or asking friends to click on ads in order to gain more money. This is click fraud, and it will cause you to ruin your chance at any future AdSense opportunities.

Whether you choose text-based, image or video ads through AdSense, you can select the size of the ads you’d like to display. With image and video advertisements, you cannot take advantage of some of the smaller sizes (button, half banner, vertical banner, etc.) because the format doesn’t support them. Play around with your various AdSense options to learn what functions best for your site, and listen to any user feedback on the presence of these ads within your pages. Get more out of AdSense by putting more of your time and care into it. Your hard work will pay off.
