Google Adwords and PPC News Dec 16th – A New Reason to Advertise on Bing
It’s Friday so I’ll keep this short and to the point.
Today I have called this an Adwords and PPC update because I want to bring your attention to the topic:
“A New Reason to Advertise on Bing”
If you haven’t made the move to Bing then you should. One reason I promote Bing is to have another provider of PPC ads other than Google.
Anyway, jump down and take a quick read and as always, please share this post with someone or maybe “Like” it or re-tweet it.
Leave me a comment about your use of Bing…or have you used it? Enjoy the weekend.

$29,3 billion in revenue in 2010, 97% of that coming from advertising $2,5 billion comes from mobile and did you realize we are spending 200 minutes per visitor a month on Googles sites? Google is huge!

Exactly what is it you want your website visitors to do? Ultimately the answer is “purchase something,” but most visitors aren’t ready to buy right away. They came to your site for some “interim” reason. But if they get confused or lost, they’ll probably just go away…

Amazon’s new Price Compare tool: for a customer, it’s like having the magical superpower of price omniscience! This handy app allows users to speak or type the name of a product or search for it by scanning the barcode – and it’ll then show prices for the product from Amazon and other stores…
Let’s take a quick look at the typical marketing funnel in 2011 to see how you can improve your results. If you’re like the average marketer, you spend a lot of money on media, such as:
- Broadcast TV ads
- Newspaper ads
- Magazine ads
- Outdoor advertising, such as billboards and transit advertising
- Radio ads
- Internet advertising, such as banner ads and pay-per-click ads
In fact, marketers spent $238 billion in just the first six months of 2010, according to Nielsen…

Synopsis — Although you may often wish for more traffic to come to your site and consequently more clicks on your pay-per-click ads to bring them there, it makes little sense to bring a lot of traffic that has no intention to convert via a purchase of a product or service. It’s important not to lose sight of the fact that your primary goal is “quality” traffic, without which you may wind up having a lot of visitors but going bankrupt in the bargain…
Most businesses begin advertising online with Google AdWords because it provides a straightforward way to use pay-per-click (PPC) advertising to attract more potential customers to their website. According to a new report by ZenithOptimedia, 44% of global online advertisers choose to advertise on Google as opposed to only 4% on MSN and 8…
What better time to demonstrate the effect seasonality has on business than with the holiday season in full swing? Walk through any mall in America right now and you will fight for a parking spot, weave through massive crowds of people, and wait in lines long enough to allow you to catch up on all of your “Words With Friends” games…

Bing, regrettably, has very little search traffic compared to Google, otherwise it WOULD be a great alternative.
Every campaign I have ever run on Bing has been a waste of time – the volume of impressions is worse than 1/10th of that on Google, and it takes forever to get any significant activity on most campaigns.
I know the publically spruiked stats say there is more, but that has not been my experience.
Really, I would love a solid alternative to Google, but Bing aint it!

Yes, Bing is a little bit of a mystery. Although I have had success with them…just need more traffic!!!!
There is a problem with Google Adwords and adsence, and the reason is the lack of consideration to justify a claim for what they say is final, do not stop to explain anything, I think that’s a problem with these services.
SEO is very hard now
seo understand the no love loss between Google and Yahoo through the years.
The problem I see with Google Adwords as well as adsense is that they are redicilously strict regarding some areas of their TOS that is very dubious and one cannot get a chance to explain what they were after.
That’s the biggest issue. They take action and don’t really provide a clear, “Do this”. Instead, they will tell you to go look over their TOS or their guidelines. We then spend all this time trying to guess what they want us to do/change. Would be very helpful if they just gave us the answer.
I think google will always renew and update all websites if those sites are good enough to be indexed in google search engine
You make some great points here. Google isn't the end all be all, you should try and stay well rounded in order the get better organic seo results.
Yes, I pray that Bing can figure out a way to eat into Google share so there is a little more focus on retaining the small guys as advertisers. The only problem, I never hear anyone say, \”go Bing it\” but you\’ll hear \”Google it\” almost everyday.
Ture google is a little bit pain, right now im finding a little trouble with google. If you work with click bank is quite simple…
That is the big concern with Search engines in that they have gotten so big they have began to phase on the little guy. Your tale is the same tale informed by Lots or Numerous other Ppc clients that Search engines determined they didn't need nowadays.
The problem I see with Google Adwords as well as adsense is that they are redicilously strict regarding some areas of their TOS that is very dubious and one cannot get a chance to explain what they were after. "A site has to be informative"…ok it is…now what? If they say (and they dont say anything they just bann you without notice) no its not bye. No explanation no nothing. They should really work on that.
I feel your pain!
That is the big issue with Google in that they have gotten so big they have started to step on the little guy. Your story is the same story told by 100s or 1000s of other Adwords customers that Google decided they didn\’t need anymore.
Time will tell if they soften their approach!
If they would at least give you a reason or a warning. My brothers Adwords account was banned after 3 years of regular use when he just wanted to know the CPC for a few words that werent related to his page. He targeted a clickbank page (which he didnt know at the time) was on the "very low quality" status in Googles eyes.
Dont use adwrods to promote clickbank (and simmillar) pages!
Most of the products sold through ClickBank are 1 page sites and Google doesn\’t approve of those types of sites. However, if you\’re promoting a product that has multiple pages and looks more like a \”real\” site then you should be fine.
Yeah, but whats the point of advertising if you cant advertise the stuff you are selling
I get it that a clickbank site should never RANK organicaly, but adwords? Come on
This has happened to a few people I know. It is really annoying how they ban you and then leave it up to you to prove why you should be reinstated.

Yes, Yahoo is a scandalous evil company that is going to kill you and your family. Isn't it obvious? — You're only making it easier by being on their web-pages and asking questions about their diabolic plans.
I would like to see you keep us updated on how Bing does with this idea. I also would like to see the numbers on the front runners playing this game. HA HA I'm glad you let me in on this new trend and i have no doubt there will be hurdles to contend with working side by side with two pit bull platforms. I understand the no love loss between Google and Yahoo through the years.
You can place Adsense ads on the google advertising network instead of in search, this is effectively using other sites, there's an option for you to just use keywords, or to specify a list of adsense sites where you want your ad to appear, you can even specify individual pages, one goldmine can be the checkout page on a competitor's site if they are so foolish as to put adsense there.
