How to Improve your Google Adwords Advertising

Google Adwords is one of the staples of current techniques used for online advertising and marketing. With a great campaign by your side, you can reach a huge audience of users, and you can reach them instantly, and for a cheaper price than you could through any other medium. Still, it's also incred.... More »

A man by the name of Rich Ord recently wrote an online piece called “A Convenient Content Truth”. This article specifically mentions the fact that Demand Media’s website called “eHow” typically ranks high when it comes to Google search results due to the fact that the website uses both Google AdSense and Google AdWords to get click-throughs on their website. He quotes: “Demand Media is reportedly going to generate $200 million in revenue this year and many be worth a billion dollars in large part because of these Google AdWords clicks.”.

As a writer for eHow.Com I can validate that I make a nice little side income from the articles that I have placed on the eHow website. All in all, it may not seem like much but I am able to successfully average anywhere from $75.00 a month to nearly $200.00 a month. There are many months that I do not create new content, or only log in a few times and these earnings still continue to roll in. The next thing that I enjoy about eHow is that the articles get so many visitors that it helps to create legitimate backlinks to my website. As a result of this, my website ranks higher on search engines.

There IS something I do not like about Google’s collaboration with eHow.Com and the website in general. The first thing is that most writers literally only earn pennies on the dollar when it comes to the content that they produce on the website. If eHow is going to make “$200 million” in their annual revenue this year, and they are literally worth a billion dollars, why is it that writers on the website online make a small – extremely small – percentage of that? In addition to that, I have to wonder – the affiliate marketers that use eHow…are they increasing the popularity of their websites by using eHow or would they be better off using some other online venue?

My next issue is this – as a website owner and/or affiliate marketer, you probably have your own Google AdSense or Google AdWords account, right? If you are a blog marketer that is trying to increase the backlinks to your website and the earnings that you make with those Google programs, do you think it is hurting you or helping you by using eHow as a marketing tool given the fact that they are actually your “competition”? I am beginning to believe that this is an issue. I mean, true, you can earn money writing for eHow but is it more than if you just focused on creating content on your own website?

The editorial that Rich Ord composed also seems to indicate that in order to rank high when it comes to earnings produced by the Google AdSense and the Google AdWords program that you must create a massive amount of content for your website. In internet affiliate marketing, you know that this is challenging. There are so many aspects of your business that keep you busy. However, eHow is a favorite of Google. Do you think that it would be better to simply create an article directory much like eHow than to focus on your preferred niche? I would like to hear your opinions on the subject. Please feel free to share any experiences that you have below. If you would like to read Rich Ord’s editorial, click here: http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2009/12/15/an-inconveinent-content-truth
