If you’ve been an affiliate marketer for any amount of time you’ve most likely come across these 5 common problems. Or maybe you’ve just started out with affiliate marketing and are looking for would-be pittfalls to prevent falling into. Here you are going to be made aware of five of the most common affiliate marketing blunders that will help you plug the leak in your revenue.

Don’t directly link to a sales page. You should use a landing Page to collect your visitors email, this is where 75% of your future income will come from. Always think about building your list.

Don’t promote ultra trendy affiliate products. The gurus boast massive lists and more than likely they know about affiliate launches sooner than you do. Once they shoot their list an affiliate link, it will come with a cookie that gets attached to their notebook. So when someone makes a purchase through your link, they will profit from the sale instead.

Don’t promote an affiliate program that has no form of tracking for each advertisement. You’ll need to know exactly how each advertisement performs, so you know what coverts and what doesn’t. The simplest way to achieve this is by setting up a free account with a URL redirection service that tracks the amount of times a URL is clicked. Use this for your ads, emails, etc.

Don’t use only a single form on your landing page. You must always split test. You can do this by using a web-based email autoresponder service to create two somewhat different forms. Next, you should split test them for 500 hits. Keep the one that performed better, write a new advertisement, and split test them again. This is how you raise your conversion rate higher.

Don’t advertise affiliate products that pay less than 50%, In fact if they return you a recurring monthly residual income, that’s even better. And there are a few that do.

These aren’t the only mistakes that affiliate marketers are guilty of. There are more, and even greater mistakes that all affiliate marketers, new and veteran, are making daily that are costing them a lot of money.
