Getting the most out of the free, organic, search results should be the goal of any online business owner. Hey, the traffic is free and ultra targeted, what more could you ask for? Finding and implementing the best SEO strategies will depend mostly on your existing knowledge, if any, and your budget.

You know the saying: those that can’t do… hire. Well, maybe that’s not really the way it goes, but it works. If you don’t know much about SEO and /or don’t have the time or inclination to learn, you can hire a company to do the work for you.

There are a lot of companies that specialize in this and many of them are quite reasonable in their pricing structure.

If you can’t afford to hire a company at this stage in the game, don’t worry, with a little knowledge and a few simple tweaks you can easily benefit from some basic SEO and at least get your foot in the door.

Once you are making more money online you can invest in the knowledge, or hire someone, to take your SEO efforts to the next level. For now, though, you can start here:

1. It all starts with your keyword list. Choosing the right keywords for your onsite SEO has to be the first step, everything revolves around these keywords.

Make sure that you choose words, or phrases, that get at least one thousand searches a month and less than 20,000 competitors. They must also be closely targeted and highly relevant to the content of your website.

Search engines will either reward or penalize you on the relevance of your keywords, you don’t want to be penalized.

Once you’ve got your keywords focus on placing them in your meta tags, your headers and footers to start. This will grab the attention of the search engine spiders and they will move your site to the top of the rankings if they think it is highly relevant.

2. You can use a similar method to drive traffic to your website by writing and submitting quality, keyword focused articles. Now, this is the point when a lot of people make a mistake; they don’t write a quality informative article, instead they try to stuff as many keywords as possible into it until is is virtually all gibberish.

You won’t be rewarded for that, the search engines are too smart. Write your article around a keyword, but don’t write for the search engines, write for people.

If you supply your readers with genuinely helpful information, and optimize it with keywords, your article can get a top rating in the search engines and subsequently drive a lot of traffic to your website.

Don’t drive yourself into the poor house when you’re just starting out online by hiring an SEO company that you can’t really afford. First, start making some money and then you can outsource much of your daily work. In the meantime, use these tips and utilize these seo strategies to keep the traffic flowing and the cash register (virtual, of course) ringing.

If you have a website you are no doubt very interested in driving online traffic to that website. Also, if you do not have the budget to buy leads to generate traffic you will be interested in finding free ways to generate that traffic. This article will give you some ideas to generate traffic for free.

Do not let anyone tell you that you can only get quality traffic if you pay for it, you can get quality traffic to your website with the only cost being a few minutes of your time.

And remember, it’s not just about the amount of traffic that you get but the quality of that traffic as well. What do I mean by quality? Quality traffic consists of website visitors who are actually interested in your product or service.

If you are selling golf balls you don’t want a bunch of website traffic that consists of people who are looking for tennis balls. You want your traffic to be highly qualified and interested in what you have to offer.

Stick with these free driving online traffic sources:
1. Article marketing. This is by far the best way to generate a ton of quality traffic for your website, if you learn how to do it right. It is totally free to do and only requires some of your time. The premise is simple, you give the search engines what they want, new, quality content and in exchange you get traffic to your website.

The first thing you need to do is get a list of keywords that are closely related to the product or service you are offering. Search for keywords that have a minimum of 1,500 searches a month and competition around 20,000. These are usually good parameters to go by when searching for keywords.

Once you have your keyword list you need to write a helpful, informative article using those keywords in your article. The article should be no less than 250 words in length but no more than around 500 words. Once your article is written you just have to sign up to several online article directories such as EzineArticles.com or GoArticles.com and submit your article. You can sign up and submit your articles for free.

2. Forum posting. To do this you just have to identify a few forums in your niche market and sign up for them. Once you sign up you can fill out a profile and include a signature file. This is simply a brief blurb about your website or product along with a link to your site.

When you participate in the forum and offer valuable information to others you will be seen as an expert in your niche. When people read your replies and click on your link they will be taken to your website. This is a very powerful way to get free traffic.

3. Start your own blog. To do this right you should stay away from the free blogs and instead buy a domain name and get a hosting account. You can and should still use a WordPress blog but if you do it the way I suggest you will actually own something and will have more control over your blog.

Make frequent and helpful blog posts. These posts should also include keywords associated with your niche, you can even use the same keyword list you made in step one for your article marketing.

These simple and free methods for driving online traffic are the best way to get started.

Take a peek and let me know what you think about today’s topics.

According to Boggs, “Competitive analysis is one of the most exciting and important tactics (SEOs) can do…

3 Ways to Optimize Your Press Release for SEO

Whenever you publish a piece of content online, you have to be thinking about SEO in the back of your mind before you send it out. Each piece of content is a potential source of valuable, inbound links and could potentially drive targeted traffic to your site. Have you optimized it for SEO to do just that? While it’s easy to incorporate anchor text and keywords in the “About the Author” section of an article or internally link among blog posts, many companies are still failing to fully capitalize on the SEO potential of an online press release…

Blog Posts to Read for June 23, 2011

Below you will find our favorite blog posts that are related to SEO, search engine marketing and social media marketing from this past week. This recap discusses some of the products that may impact the future of SEO.
Search by Image

Perhaps the most exciting and interesting development from Inside Search was the announcement of Search by Image…

SEO For The Oft-Neglected Blog Home Page

The blog home page is one of the least-optimized pages on a website. It doesn’t get nearly the same level of love as an individual post page when it comes to keyword research, SEO, and internal linking. I don’t think it’s intentional.
I think it’s just easy to forget how authoritative blog home pages can be and how much traffic they can garner on their own…

It Ain’t Easy Being SEO Copy

At first glance, SEO copywriting can seem cold. Most people tend to view keywords as sterile phrases to be popped in here and there throughout content. To truly appreciate both of these processes it requires looking at them from a broader perspective.
Bees are marvelous insects.

You need to look over today’s collection of SEO Tips and highlights. I really like the Local SEO and Marketing topics. There is always something about Local SEO that can help any online only based business.

I really enjoyed the topic “New Update Means Businesses Must Tweak Google Places” from SEO.com.

Can I get your help? Leave a comment and say either “Local” or “Online Only”. I’m curious how many readers are offline or local based business.

Google is favoring big brands.
If Google’s comments and actions of late, are anything to go by, the chances of the little guy, armed only with SEO chops, being able to compete with deep-pocketed corporates are becoming less and less likely. Google algorithms tend to reward the big players – the people everyone talks about, and links to…

As more and more broad queries deliver localized results, local search optimization has become an integral part of small business SEO. Previously I outlined how to find websites to fuel your local SEO efforts, but this month I want to outline how your own website can fuel your local SEO with the help of semantic markup…

Some other SEO professionals may disagree, but I believe you have to have a well optimized site before you even bother to start on link building. But the debate over which is more important—on-site SEO or link building—is for another day…

Since PPC is about buying clicks from the search engine, and since SEO is about earning clicks from the search engines, many SEO consultants argue that PPC is just throwing money at a problem instead of working toward a solution…

When your boss/client asks you why your web site can’t be found in Google, what are you going to say? You should prepare, because, eventually, that question will be asked.
Should you cross that bridge when you come to it? Employ an SEO specialist to “do some stuff”, after launch, in order to get the site ranked? Isn’t SEO just another marketing function, like buying advertising?
In this article, I’ll outline why it’s a bad idea to treat SEO as an add-on…

It seems to be especially easy to find bad advice about strategic keyword selection and optimization. This post will look at three myths related to keyword relevance and competition…

What Does An SEO Mindset Look Like?

Search engine optimization is one of those things that a person really needs to embrace if they want to accept everything that comes along with it. Things like process, time, and patience that are needed to get the job done are all part of having an SEO mindset. Since search engine optimization is not a one-time step and does vary from website to website, a serious mindset needs to be taken when you approach an SEO process to any website…

How To Get Social With SEO (because you have to)

Between Facebook’s expanded deal with Bing and the recent launch of Google’s +1 button, it’s clear that search is becoming more social. So while Facebook isn’t about to take over search and become the next Google (per se), one thing is clear: if you want to rank, you’re going to have to get social with your SEO strategy…

The Difference Between Gray, White, and Black Hat Techniques

There’s an easy way to remember the difference between gray, white, and black hat SEO techniques. In traditional westerns, the bad guys always wore black hats—the good guys, white. Guys with gray hats are not quite good, not quite bad. Here are some of the specifics that outline the differences in less simplistic terms…

Leveraging Current Events When Link Baiting

Building a legitimate, natural looking backlink portfolio is one of the hardest parts of SEO. It is especially hard when the website you are link building to lacks linkable content. When your site lacks linkable content, you have to force the backlinks coming into your site, which 9/10 times never looks natural…

How does Google treat sites where all external links are no-follow?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnVEERmbdpo
