The holidays are quickly approaching. Stores both online and off are already having sales to drive in traffic. Is your site ready for the holiday rush?

 

If you want to keep up this holiday season you have to give customers a reason to shop at your business. You need to offer discounts and special promotions. All the major retailers are already offering Black Friday sales to get customers in earlier. Are you offering a special sale for Black Friday?

 

Holiday sales can account for a large part of your yearly profits. You need to do whatever you can to get customers on your website. Consider running a special giveaway. With each purchase the customer gets something for free. Offer free shipping to customers. They will be more likely to make a purchase if they don’t have to worry about the cost of shipping.

 

Offer a discount. If you use Google checkout this can be done very simply. Have a buy one get on free sale. Offer different discounts through-out various times of the day. This keeps the customer coming back to your site. The more a customer comes to your site the higher the chances they will make a purchase. Have a special discount for returning customers. Send out an email or include the holiday discount in your newsletter.

 

Consider offering free gift wrapping. You would be amazed at how something so simple as gift wrapping can drive up the sales. Once you have figured out which sales and special offers you are going to have you need to make sure your site is able to handle the extra traffic. You also want to make sure all of the links are working. If a customers clicks on a dead link they will most likely get frustrated and leave your site.

 

Now is the time to start offering discounts and special offers if you want to take advantage of the holiday shopping season.
