You have your website all set up and now you are ready to begin selling your service or product. You figure out how to get traffic to your website but you are not getting many sales. You need more of the traffic turning into sales but what can you do? Here are some tips for increasing the conversion rate on your website.
Make sure the customer knows exactly how to buy or sign up for what you are offering. You would not believe how many times people will read and reread trying to figure out how to sign up or place an order. Some sites do not have this information posted clearly where a customer can find it without searching for twenty minutes. If a customer has to look for how to buy your product they are going to buy it from somewhere else. Have the info posted right in plain view. Also make it clear from the start what your product or service costs. Customers do not like to be tricked so saying something is free and then telling them it will cost is not going to work.
Make changes to your marketing techniques. If you have not been getting high conversion rates on your site it is time to make some changes. Play around with pricing. Even lowering your price by some change can be enough to increase sales. If you are trying to get people to sign up for a newsletter, but you haven’t been successful, offer them something in return. Give away a free e-book that relates to your service. People love free things. By offering something extra for free you can increase conversion rates. Something like free shipping can be a big hit.
Communicate with your visitors. Have a way for them to ask questions about your service or product. Let them know you will be there after the purchase as well. Having a contact us form s a great way to do this.
Offer a guarantee policy. People feel more comfortable buying something when it has a guarantee attached. This can help improve your site’s conversion rates. The customer that knows if they are not happy they can get a refund will be more likely to make a purchase.
Increasing conversion rates for your website does not have to be hard. Just make changes when your current plan is not working. You can always go back if the changes do not improve sales. You will not know if something will work it you don’t try it out.
Getting to know your product has to be understood by the customer for its cutting edge over other products. It doesn't come easy but testing and rethinking or market strategies on how to sell specific commodities via different channels can make all the difference as stated. Nice article
