New York website development and online marketing firm says that too many online press releases don’t make the grade, negatively effecting the businesses they are meant to promote
“Online press release distribution companies are seeing an upswing in business lately,” says Peter Crisafi, Vice President of dzine it, Inc., a leading New York online marketing and website design firm that offers press release management to clients across the United States. “Unfortunately, they are also seeing an upswing in black hat search engine optimization tactics as well.”
According to Crisafi, many companies that offer services similar to dzine it are submitting press releases that are stuffed with keywords, key phrases, and anchor links while paying no attention to content. As a result, the clients that these companies represent are suffering.
“There has been a lot of abuse of online press release distribution services and, as a result, they have become stricter about the types of submission that they will approve,” says Crisafi. “In some cases, they have even banned certain users because of their use of black hat search engine optimization techniques.”
Crisafi says that he and his team use online press release distribution services to give authority and ultimately drive traffic to their clients’ websites. Unfortunately, other companies who promise the same services don’t put the time and effort necessary to achieve those goals, giving SEO and online marketing experts like him and his staff a bad name.
“The major complaint among distribution services is the lack of value or meaning within some press releases because they try too hard to subvert search engine rankings,” says Crisafi. “As online marketing experts, we have to consider the purpose of what we are trying to achieve. A good online marketing firm wants to give its client the whole package, not just a quick rank jump.”
