“Click to Call” Ads from Google Draw the Attention of Numerous Advertisers

At the beginning of the year, Google made an announcement and introduction of a special service identified as “Click to Call”. This service is intended to advertisers that placed their ads on mobile phones – specifically, the “high-end” phones that are identified as “smartphones”. Basically, these companies could include a specific phone number associated with their unique advertisement that could be used to call that location. Users of the cell phones could simply click on the phone number associated with the advertisement and then the phone will direct the cell phone user directly to the business.

Google was originally quite selective about which advertisers could use this type of feature. However, in March, the internet guru has now announced that it will make the feature available to all advertisers. In my opinion, this is a pretty smart move as far as Google is concerned. I mean, could we come to expect any less of Google? How do you feel about this new announcement? We would love your comments. You may leave them below. Is click to call now another ad feature that will be dominated by a few major search engines, preventing smaller businesses from participating in the mobile advertising services market?
