The clients that use Google AdSense have recently been subjected to phishing. Individuals that are subjected to this particular type of phishing will receive a well articulated email stating that their account has been disabled for one reason or another. Interestingly enough, the email actually looks official and it appears as if it is actually from Google. It uses the same basic wording and really emits a sense of fear in those individuals that depend on the profits received from the advertisements on their websites and blogs with the Google Adsense program.

People that receive this type of Google Adsense email are urged to pay close attention to the information contained within the email that they receive stating that their account has been disabled. One of the things that you should look for is the name of the actual attachment that the message includes. If it states: “Invalid Clicks Appeal.html” it is part of the current phishing scam. If you attempt to open the attachment, you will be redirected to a website called “110MB.com”. I personally have to wonder, why do these phishers want to target Google AdSense clients? Do they feel, somehow, that they will receive the profits? I am not entirely sure of what would motivate a person to do something like this.
