Wal-Mart has just gotten even bigger, if that was even possible. The retail giant has opened their own Marketplace. The Marketplace will offer products from other retailers. Wal-Mart will handle the checkout process, but each retailer will be responsible for fulfilling the orders, handling customer service, and returns or exchanges. Wal-Mart has added almost a million new products by opening their marketplace. The retailers being used in the marketplace are known for their great customer service and their large amount of quality products. They are being handpicked. I do not see any small businesses being chosen to collaborate with Wal-Mart’s new market place anytime soon. They probably could not afford whatever fee the retailers are being charged by Wal-Mart to participate. Wal-Mart has not disclosed what profit they will be making from the retailers. The unstoppable Wal-Mart keeps on growing.
