Facebook Becomes More Integrated With Apple iOS Software Kit
iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users, rejoice! Accessing Facebook via the Apple iOS operating system just got a whole lot easier with the launch of a new software development kit.
Apple users have traditionally struggled to go social on via their mobile devices. Facebook addresses this issue with two new main features. One is the use of the Graphy API, allowing developers integrate Facebook’s Open Graph into their applications; the other being authentication with OAuth 2.0.
Facebook sees the value in this software development kit, as more and more users (over 150 million) access Facebook via their mobile device. They want to ensure that developers have the ability to build the same social experiences that Facebook does when developing their own applications. This launch shows that Facebook hasn’t forgotten about iOS, though Facebook’s CEO is a rumored Droid user these days.
