Google’s Real Time Search has gained a few new data sources over the last month. You can see results from Google Buzz posts, MySpace updates, and most recently, updates from Facebook fan pages.

Google initially revealed that these updates were coming back in December, when it first started including real-time data in its search results.

It’s worthy to mention that that Facebook is only granting Google access to updates from its 3 million Pages , which are normally for celebrities, politicians, brands, and local businesses — not your regular Facebook user. Things that are shared on fan pages by fan page owners — such as links, status updates, photos and videos — can now be found in Google Real Time Search. However, comments made by non-owners on fan pages will not be included. Nor will updates that are made on personal pages.

The information offered could occasionally be useful, but the power of real-time search comes from having a wealth of contributors. Facebook has a massive amount of data from its 400 million active users, but it isn’t sharing most of that with Google. Instead, it’s only granting full access to user updates to Bing (though that isn’t live yet). Bing will still only be receiving status updates that are shared with “Everyone“, but with its latest privacy overhaul, Facebook ensured that it would have far more of those updates than it used to.

Just fan pages? So this won't include my Facebook page? Interesting.
