Facebook users forgetting to log out of their accounts will now have the ability to do so remotely. This improvement comes as a welcome feature to those accessing their accounts from public computers at coffee shops or libraries.

How will the new feature work? It will appear under the “Account Security” section of “Account Settings”  and will display the most recent activity related to a user’s account, including location, device name, time and device type/browser. This will assist users in figuring out whether they left their Facebook account open at work or on a public computer.

There will also be links to the right of any active link, allowing users to logout remotely.

This is definitely a step in the right direction as users often utilize Facebook for all aspects of their life. Information contained in an account can be very private and these measures will work to keep it that way.
