There is no doubt that Facebook is a great marketing tool for anyone who has an online presence. With millions of users, Facebook dominates the social media marketing terrain and gives any online business the power to reach thousands in the blink of an eye. The most difficult thing about using Facebook is that you always have to come up with new content.

That just got a lot easier for anyone who uses Facebook. A new feature is being tested where news articles that have been liked will be shown in the Facebook search results. This could be a very good thing for those who market on the internet.

Results are shown based on the number of likes the article has and the number of friends who have liked that article. This, when combined with another new feature that allows people to subscribe to someone and see when updates are made, could make searching on Facebook as easy as it is to search on Google with the subscription service making it easy to only see updates from people you want to see.

This could blossom into a useful tool for marketers. If your articles start to show up in search results on Facebook, then you can expect more traffic from them. People who are not your friends may see the updates in the feeds from their friends or in the search results and become a fan of yours. You can also see how the subscription feature could help – people could see when you update, like your articles, then their friends will see the updates in their subscriptions and your articles will show up in the search results. This has the ability to make marketing even easier and Facebook even more valuable as a tool for increasing traffic. That is, if it takes off enough to include many different articles and not just news.

Do you think this could help marketers? Or is it something that will merely lead to more time on Facebook without being a big help?
