After a lot of hush-hush and rumors with a lot of buzz generated by the special invite-only invitation Facebook sent around, it was finally announced at a Press conference that Facebook and MySpace were taking their partnership to a whole new level with a product they called "Mashup with Facebook."
Mashup with Facebook lets users log in to MySpace with Facebook or connect their existing accounts to Facebook. MySpace intends to integrate 'Like' buttons on the site so that MySpace content can get shared on Facebook.
Recently, MySpace was given a warning by its Parent company to shape up and quit losing money. This move could go a long way in increasing the visibility of the social media site and thereby increase the number of regular monthly users.
MySpace's new focus in on entertainment and creating a platform where artistes can share their activities with an audience as large as Facebook's can only be a good thing and a positive step forward.
