Google’s latest video answers the question on how to handle image names. Should you name each image with a proper name, or just leave them with whatever name they already have.

 

So now we know if we optimize images on our site we can expect a traffic increase. People are searching for images. If you image comes up in the search results this will mean greater traffic to your website. While they may have came to see the image they are now on your site and may browse through other content.

 

Name all of your images with keywords related to your site and the image itself. It’s simple and can possibly bring in more traffic to your site. The bottom line is, it can’t hurt.
